How hot should coffee be? A drink-by-drink temperature guide
The same coffee can taste completely different depending on temperature. Here are the commonly recommended temperatures for coffee, tea, milk and more.

Even your everyday cup of coffee tastes noticeably different depending on its temperature. Knowing the sweet spot for each drink helps you enjoy it at its best.
Coffee and tea
| Drink | Commonly recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hot coffee | 70–80°C | Aromas open up. Too hot and it’s hard to taste anything. |
| Latte, cocoa | 55–65°C | Milk tastes at its sweetest and smoothest. |
| Brewing green or white tea | 70–80°C | Less bitterness, more gentle umami. |
| Iced coffee, cold brew | 4–6°C | Crisp and clean. |
Milk, water and formula
| Drink | Commonly recommended |
|---|---|
| Cool water or milk | 10–15°C |
| Baby formula | Follow the preparation instructions and check before feeding |
Always double-check the temperature of formula before feeding your baby.
The real problem is keeping it there
Even when a drink starts at the perfect temperature, it rarely stays there. ALLCOM Smart Tumbler sets your drink anywhere from 10–80°C and holds it. Coffee at 70°C, an afternoon latte at 60°C, water at 10°C on a summer day — pick the temperature that suits what you’re drinking.
Temperatures above are common recommendations and may vary with personal taste. Temperatures below 10°C, such as 4–6°C, are outside ALLCOM Smart Tumbler’s setting range.
